Help for mothers in Whanganui and the Bay of Plenty struggling with alcohol and drug harm 1 April 2021
The Pregnancy and Parenting Programme already runs in Waitemata, Tairawhiti, Northland and Hawke s Bay.
It s tailored to women disconnected from health and social services . who are pregnant, or have children under three years old, and have issues with substance abuse.

The Government is expanding its Pregnancy and Parenting
Programme so more women and whānau can access specialist
support to minimise harm from alcohol and other drugs,
Health Minister Andrew Little says.
“We know these
supports help improve wellbeing and have helped to reduce
addiction, reduced risk for children, and helped bring
whānau back together,” Andrew Little said.

know that giving our children the best possible start in
life and helping support families is a vital part of the

More than 30,000 parents have attended Positive Parenting Programme: MSF

SINGAPORE: More than 30,000 parents have benefitted from the Positive Parenting Programme, which teaches them techniques to manage their children’s behaviour, said Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Social and Family Development Eric Chua on Wednesday (Mar 3).
The “evidence-based” programme, also known as Triple P, was first piloted in 2014 and has since been rolled out at schools and social service agencies islandwide.
