As authorities in the Baltimore area gauged damage left in the wake of a series of powerful thunderstorms Thursday evening, meteorologists worked “double duty” locking in forecasts for another potentially damaging weather pattern.
BEL AIR â An investigation is continuing after a blaze damaged a restaurant in Bel Air over the weekend, forcing the business to close temporarily, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Employees called 911 at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, after discovering the fire at Naughty Dogs Restaurant, Pub and Grill in the 2300 block of Churchville Road, prompting several area volunteer fire companies to respond, fire officials reported.
Approximately 60 volunteer firefighters battled the blaze for about an hour, before bringing it under control, fire officials said. Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company served as the on-scene command unit, fire officials added.

BEL AIR, MD A fire at Naughty Dogs caused $150,000 in damage over the weekend, according to authorities.
The blaze started in the interior wall of the restaurant in the 2300 block of Churchville Road, the fire marshal reported.
Employees at Naughty Dogs discovered the blaze around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

Approximately 60 firefighters responded, bringing the fire under control within one hour, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, which reported the blaze is under investigation.
Because the fire alarm and sprinklers were in an unprotected area, authorities said they did not activate.

BEL AIR, MD Former County Councilman and Bel Air Town Commissioner James V. Capt n Jim McMahan Jr. died April 14. The lifelong Bel Air resident, who was also a radio show host, was 82.
McMahan also known as Captain Jim was born, raised and educated in Bel Air.
He went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1960 to 1978.
The Town of Bel Air is considering increasing a property tax credit for active members of its volunteer firefighting company potentially affording them a tax credit of up to $1,000 per household, according to legislation before the town commissioners.
