At approximately 2 a.m., the Beltrami County Dispatch Center received a report of an assault occurring at a residence in rural Puposky, Minn. Upon arrival, it was learned that an adult male died of homicidal violence, according to the release.

Bemidji man arrested after fatal assault in Beltrami County

By Pat Sweeney May 25, 2021 | 4:29 PM Authorities say a Bemidji man is in custody after the fatal assault of a Bloomington (MN) man in Beltrami County.   At about 2:00 AM last Friday, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s office got a report of an assault at a residence in Puposky (MN), north of Bemidji.   Upon arrival, authorities learned that 53-year-old Burgess Palmore died of “homicidal violence,” according to a release from the sheriff’s office.     Schulman is being held in the Beltrami County Jail on unrelated criminal charges, pending arraignment in Beltrami County District Court.   An autopsy by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office reported the manner of death as homicide, according to the sheriff’s office.

Janelle L. Johnson, of Bemidji, was charged in Beltrami County District Court with second-degree intentional murder in connection with the death of 48-year-old Jesse Farris at his house near Bemidji. Johnson remains jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail ahead of a court appearance Monday. A message was left with her attorney seeking a response to the allegations.
