Committees formed for long-term Beltrami County Jail discussion

The new steering committee is set to include:
Bemidji Mayor Jorge Prince.
Beltrami County Sheriff Ernie Beitel, Jail Administrator Calandra Allen and Administrator Thomas Barry.
Department of Corrections Regional Director Trisha Hansen and Tribal Liaison Randy Goodwin.

BEMIDJI Compared to past years, this winter has been relatively painless, and now, the unseasonable warmth has led to the early melting of area lakes.
On Tuesday morning, April 6, Dick Beardsley Fishing Guide Service announced on Facebook that Lake Bemidji was completely ice free.

Beltrami County has been reimbursed more than $170,522 for expenses related to Line 3 construction site law enforcement.

BEMIDJI Beltrami County has been reimbursed more than $170,522 for expenses related to Line 3 construction site law enforcement.
According to a press release from Beltrami County Sheriff Ernie Beitel, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Line 3 escrow account escrow is a legal arrangement in which a third party temporarily holds large sums of money or property until a particular condition has been met reimbursed Beltrami County for expenses incurred by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office for training deputies, purchasing equipment and other expenses related to mutual aid requests from neighboring law enforcement agencies in support of the Northern Lights Task Force.

Anita Ann Carlson, 22, was a recent Bemidji State graduate who disappeared while working a night shift at the Pete’s Place West convenience store.
