Pakistan has joined the United States, China and Russia in urging the Afghan government and the Taliban to ensure that Afghan soil is not used to threaten the security of any other country.
The four nations known as the Extended Troika on Peaceful Settlement in Afghanistan are also urging the Afghan government to engage openly with their Taliban counterparts. They also want the UN Security Council (UNSC) to review the designations of Taliban individuals and entities.
“We call on all Afghans including the government of the Islamic Republic and the Taliban to ensure that terrorist groups and individuals do not use Afghan soil to threaten the security of any other country,” they said in a joint statement issued in Washington.

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday said India, with the help of Israel, was trying to have its hegemony in South Asia.
“Being part of nexus with Israel, India is bringing demographic changes in the Indian illegally occupied Kashmir and procuring weapons with a craving to become a super power,” the president said in his keynote address at a seminar on ‘Understanding Hindutva Mindset and Indian Hegemonic Aspirations’ organised by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.
He said by pursuing Hindutva ideology and marginalising the minorities, India was creating an exploitative society and falling into pits of extremism and polarisation.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The sixth anniversary of the tragic incident of terrorist attack on Army Public School Peshawar was observed on Wednesday.
One hundred and forty seven people, mostly students and teachers were martyred in the terrorist attack on this day in 2014.
In his tweet on the occasion of anniversary of APS terrorist attack, President Arif Alvi said this incident brought tears in the eyes of the nation.
He said the children laid their lives and brought focus of the nation to suppress terrorism with all its might.
