ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday nullified order of Peshawar High Court (PHC) that directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to investigate alleged irregularities in Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had challenged the order of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) in order to stop the investigation.
In the high court judgment, one of the points referred to a special BRT cell in the transport department wherein consultants and other human resources were hired but despite that, the project was given to the Peshawar Development Authority.

The Supreme Court has stopped Pakistan s accountability bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency from investigating the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit project.
The court heard two petitions against the project.

In a major relief to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Supreme Court has set aside a two-year-old Peshawar High Court (PHC) ruling that directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to probe into alleged corruption in the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
A three-judge bench, led by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, issued the order on Tuesday while hearing petitions against two different PHC verdicts containing directives respectively for NAB and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
