The newly planted forest Garhi Chandan, Peshawar Zoo as well as Hayatabad Industrial Estate will be visited in this regard. This decision was taken in the second meeting of the Standing Committee on Environment on Wednesday. It was chaired by MPA Shafiq Sher Afridi and attended by MPAs Madiha Nisar, Sajida Hanif, Sitara Afreen, Humaira Khatoon, Shagufta Malik and Baseerat Shinwari. The participants of the committee were briefed on the core functions and performance of the Environment Department.

African giraffe worth Rs 10 mln dies in Peshawar Zoo under mysterious circumstances ANI | Updated: Dec 16, 2020 04:45 IST Peshawar [Pakistan], December 16 (ANI): An African giraffe in Peshawar Zoo who was given appropriate treatment has died under mysterious circumstances. According to Geo News report, the Peshawar Zoo on Tuesday sent the samples of organs of an African giraffe, who passed away a day earlier under mysterious circumstances, to a laboratory in Islamabad for a detailed analysis of the cause of death. Ishtiaq Khan, director of the Zoo, told the Pakistani media outlet, that they will be able to figure out the cause of death once they get the report.

Official confirms death of 4th giraffe at Peshawar Zoo Peshawar December 16, 2020 PESHAWAR: Four of the total six giraffes at the Peshawar Zoo died during 2020 when they were ready for mating while the cause of death is yet to be determined. Project Director of the Peshawar Zoo, Ishtiaq Wazir, said now we have only two giraffes and four died in 2020. The first one died in April, second in May, third in June and the fourth on Monday. He said the samples from the giraffe body had been sent to the Veterinary Research Institute in Peshawar and Veterinary Laboratory in Islamabad to determine the cause of death of the tallest animal.
