Nova Entertainment is in the business of being “where the listeners are” rather than attempting to shape listener habits, head of podcasts and digital content, Rachel Corbett, tells Mumbrella.
Its launch is off the back of a steady stream of podcast announcements over recent weeks and months, with Nova Entertainment ramping up its original and in-house productions.
This year the slate has expanded with titles including drag superstars Courtney Act and Vanity with ‘Brenda, Call Me!’, Angie Kent’s ‘Angie Tries It’, and just this week with Harley Breen and Nikki Briton’s ‘Mates Talking About Stuff’.

One of 2DayFM’s former Breakfast hosts, Harley Breen, is back in the audio realm, launching a podcast with fellow comedian Nikki Britton via NOVA Podcasts.
Mates Talking About Stuff will come out each Monday and Friday from today, and is recorded just hours before it is released, NOVA Entertainment said.
According to NOVA, the podcast is organic, unscripted and covers everything your mates will be chatting about that day.

Late entries open for Radio Today Podcast Awards & deadline extended
Everybody loves a deadline – especially one which has been extended.
So, rejoice! The late entry deadline for the Radio Today Podcast Awards with LiSTNR has been pushed out until 11:59pm (AEST) on Sunday, July 4.
Finalists will be announced on Monday, July 26, with winners to follow on Monday, August 2.
The awards will showcase the most innovative individuals and organisations in podcasting from across the Australian media and marketing landscape and recognise and reward the incredible work being done in the booming sector.
Categories will include Australian Podcast of the Year, Podcast Series Producer of the Year, Podcast Marketer of the Year, Radio Show Podcast of the Year, Branded Podcast of the Year, and Podcast Company of the Year.
