Nintendo will likely release an E3 Nintendo Direct presentation regardless, so the change to an online format has probably not affected its plans aside from the show floor stuff. As for the livestream portion of E3 2021, that will likely feature interviews and gameplay for a variety of games. There were reports that E3 2021 would incorporate some kind of payment option, but this was quickly debunked by the ESA.
You can currently register your interest on the E3 website, which will send you updates leading up to the main event in June. Geoff Keighley will also be hosting Summer Game Fest around the same time, as he stated on Twitter that he won’t be participating in E3 this year. Are you excited for E3 2021?

2020 saw most in-person events shuttered which included the videogame industry’s most prestigious, E3, unable to welcome guests from around the world. This year, however, will be slightly different. A physical event won’t be held but organiser The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced a reimagined, all-virtual E3 2021 will be taking place instead.
The specifics have yet to be revealed but the ESA has noted it’ll encompass an ‘exclusive online portal and supporting mobile app.’ There will be the usual mixture of live press conferences, reveals and high-profile hosts, plus charitable initiatives and more. Currently, Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media have all committed to the show with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) noticeably absent, a trend the company began back in 2019.

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced today that E3 2021 has been officially set for June 12th-15th. Virtual streams and announcements will be made available online through all major video platforms as well as through the E3 2021 portal and supporting mobile app. Xbox, Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media already confirmed they ll be there to showcase their upcoming games. Others, like Sony, Square Enix, Electronic Arts, and Activision Blizzard, will probably organize their own showcases.
