Gone are the days when only established brands dominated shelf space in airports, on airline trolleys and cruise ships. Today, there is a great deal of choice for shoppers in travel retail, making it a hugely competitive sector for spirits.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has opened its first dedicated luxury seasonal whisky boutique in China. The 35sq m boutique is located in the China Duty Free department store at the Haitang Bay Mall in Sanya.
The boutique presents the Dewarâs blended scotch whisky range including Dewarâs Double Double 21-Year-Old, 27-Year-Old and 32-Year-Old and will have been trading for three months once it ceases operations at the end of April.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has opened its first dedicated whisky boutique in
China with
Hainan’s
Dewar’s blended Scotch whisky range, including the
21YO,
27YO and the
Other Bacardi brands also feature at the outlet, with
Aberfeldy,
Aberfeldy 18YO Exceptional Cask, which is a limited edition offer, with just 594 bottles produced.
Bacardi Global Travel Retail Regional Director Asia Pacific Gaurav Joshi said: “Our premium whisky brands are disrupting the category and they are growing fast. New whisky appreciators – especially in markets like China – are looking for unconventional brands that offer aged whisky with authentic provenance and craftsmanship.”
