At least one person was killed in a crash on Taft Highway on Thursday morning. Traffic is shut down in both directions.

At least one person was killed in a crash on Taft Highway on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol s incident page, two vehicles collided in the area of Taft Highway and Sunridge Avenue just after 4 a.m. Thursday.
The CHP reporting hard closures in both directions on Taft Highway.
The CHP reports a fatal crash early this morning has shut down both directions of Taft Hwy at Sunride Road. There is no estimated time for the highway to reopen. A man s body was found in an aqueduct Wednesday afternoon near the Outlets at Tejon.
The California Highway Patrol says the man s body was found in the California Aqueduct just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Kern County Coroner s Office and the CHP are investigating the incident.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â BREAKING NEWS: the latest drought monitor report now shows most of Kern County, including all valley and mountain locations, are in the worst state of drought conditions, classified as exceptional .
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report released Thursday morning says California continued to see the impacts of drought increase, and there was expansion of extreme and exceptional drought in the northern and central areas as well as along the coast of central California.
