BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â Golden Empire Transit will hold a public hearing Tuesday to discuss a proposal for changes in transit service as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
According to the proposal, certain routes will stop running earlier in the day while others will see the frequency of their trips changed. They ll also take public comments on unmet transit needs that exist in the Bakersfield area.
One Bakersfield family is currently dealing with the loss of a wife and mother who passed away after giving birth with it comes a warning to other families from her husband.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â A crash on Copus Road and Highway 99 resulted in one person dead, and another with moderate injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place Tuesday just after 2:00 p.m. when the Bakersfield Communication Center received a call of a traffic crash involving two cars.
According to CHP, a Kia Rio was driving westbound on Copus Road, when a Peterbilt 3-axle truck that was towing two dump trailers and hauling dry asphalt, was traveling eastbound on Copus Road. The crash caused the trailers to rollover and the dry asphalt spilled throughout the roadway.
