Two people dead following shooting in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â The Bakersfield Police Department is still looking for any suspects involved in a shooting that left two people dead in South Bakersfield.
According to BPD officers responded to Custer Avenue near the Valley Plaza Mall just after 7:30 Sunday Night. When they arrived they found two people, a man and woman both suffering from major injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital where they died.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call BPD at 327-7111.

KCSO investigating hammer and knife assault in Northwest Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â The Kern County Sheriff s Office is investigating an assault in Northwest Bakersfield Sunday night.
According to KCSO, deputies responded to reports of an assault with a hammer and knife at 5100 Laura Court, near Coffee and Hageman roads at about 9:25 p.m.
Deputies located two victims that were struck with a hammer. They are being treated for minor injuries.
Another victim with possible stab wounds may be on the way to the hospital, KCSO confirmed.
There may be more than one suspect in the area.
