SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Sophomore Emma Spitz shot a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to finish in solo second at the Sun Devil Winter Classic. She finished her 54 holes at the Talking Stick Golf Club at 6-under 210.
As a team, the Bruins placed fifth (+23, 887), shooting a 12-over 300.
Spitz, who only made two bogeys throughout the entire tournament, posted three birdies on the par-5 fifth, par-4 eighth and par-3 ninth holes on Wednesday, making just one bogey. She finished three shots back of Arizona State s Linn Grant, who fired a 5-under 67 in the final round.
Sophomore Annabel Wilson tied for 11th at 3-over 219 after shooting a 1-over 73 in her final round. She made three birdies, including a pair on par-5s (fifth and 16th), adding another on the par-4 sixth to go with four bogeys.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Oregon women s golf team closed its first counting tournament of the 2021 season with an 11-over 299 at Talking Stick Golf Club on Wednesday to finish fourth overall at the Sun Devil Winter Classic.
The Ducks ended the three-day tournament at 22 over, two strokes behind third-place Arizona. USC won the event at 6-under-par, four strokes ahead of second-place Arizona State.
Dating back to last season, Oregon has now finished in the top five in seven of its last eight team tournaments. Sophomore Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen was the top Duck on Wednesday with a 1-over 73 and Oregon s top finisher overall, tying for 15th individually at 4-over-par.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Washington State women s golf team remains in eighth place after two rounds of play at the Sun Devil Winter Classic, as the Cougars ended Tuesday s (Feb. 16) second round carding 302 (+14).
Fifth-year senior Marie Lund-Hansen and sophomore Jiye Ham each maintained a spot inside the top-20 on the player leaderboard heading into Wednesday s final round. Lund-Hansen shot a team-best one-over par; 73 in the second round. The Denmark native carded a team-high five birdies to help finish the day in a tie for 14th overall at 146 (+2). Ham in the meantime, concluded her second go-around the Talking Stick Golf Club shooting 75 (+3). She enters the tomorrow s third round in a tie for 20th with score of 148 (+8).
