Carlos Ahenkorah is a thief, deserved beatings – Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress has likened the actions of Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Tema West Member of Parliament during the election of the Speaker of Parliament to a thief stealing an item at the popular Kejetia Market in Kumasi. Asiedu Nketia did not mince words in referring to Carlos Ahenkorah as a thief who deserved the treatment he got from some MPs. Videos of the incident show some MPs including the NDC Chief Whip Muntaka Mohammed assaulting Carlos Ahenkorah. Asiedu Nketia told Accra FM that the MPs who accosted Carlos Ahenkorah deserve special praise for helping apprehend a ‘thief’.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Managing Editor, the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says it is wrong for any individual to claim that the outcome of the 2020 elections is to allow the NPP and NDC work together in moving Ghana’s democracy forward. According to Pratt Jnr., who is the Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Ghanaians who voted for the NPP were voting for the NPP to win and was not voting for the NPP to go into partnership with the NDC, whereas the people who were voting for the NDC were not voting for the NDC to go into any collaboration.

According to him, some “irregularities” which accompanied the voting process caused him to act in the manner which he did. In a Facebook post Friday, Mr Ahenkorah in apologising for his action explained that “the NPP in me couldn’t be controlled.” “I must say I am heart broken and dejected. We ve not seen the end of this yet. With this success, they would tell us what they want and what they don t in parliament because the whip system has been compromised. This is so sad. I ll die for my party any day.
