11 people charged after shoplifting operation at Batemans Bay
More than 10 people have been charged during an operation targeting shoplifting in the South Coast this week.
The shoplifting operation was conducted by officers from the South Coast Police District, Batemans Bay Proactive Crime Team, between Thursday (15 April 2021) and yesterday Friday (16 April 2021) in the Batemans Bay CBD.

About 3.20pm on Thursday 15 April 2021, officers arrested a 27-year-old Queanbeyan woman who was allegedly caught stealing items from a supermarket on Perry Street, Batemans Bay. The woman was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for shoplifting, to appear before Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 24 May 2021.

Unlicensed driver caught more than three times over limit on Day 2 of road-safety operation
Unlicensed driver charged with high-range drink-driving after allegedly crashing into parked cars and assaulting police at Panania overnight.
Shortly before 11pm yesterday (Friday 25 December 2020), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to Truscott Street and found a Lexus had hit two parked cars.
The driver, a 55-year-old man was subjected to a roadside breath test returning a positive result and became aggressive, assaulting officers when they attempted to arrest him. The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.179.
