While Bay County doesn’t have as many vaccinated residents as three counties in the Panhandle, it still has far more than others. For instance, neighboring Walton County had just 270 vaccinations by Tuesday, records show.
Still, Bay County health department officials have faced criticism for their handling of the vaccine distribution so far.
Bay County commissioners on Tuesday said they were disappointed with the rollout, noting that the health department had the vaccine for a week before distributing it. Some commissioners also said they thought health department officials were planning the rollout “on the fly.”
So far, the vaccine has been in high demand in the county.
