A Salem County woman has filed a federal lawsuit against Penns Grove and its former police chief, alleging she was mistakenly outed as a confidential informant to a criminal with ties to a violent street gang.
The lawsuit alleges former Chief Patrick Riley Sr. left a message on an answering service he believed was the woman’s voicemail, according to the suit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Camden.
