Rendering: an early vision of the green space planned on site 5. In our update of the Essex Crossing development project last week, we mentioned that residents would soon be asked for their input regarding a park being planned on Broome Street.  We now have details for the first meeting.  It’ll be Wednesday, March 19, 6:30 p.m., at the JASA/Green building, 200 East 5th St. The open space is located on site #5 of the nearly 2 million square foot residential and retail project.  It will cover 15,000 square feet.  During the land use approval process, the city agreed to give the community a role in designing the park, part of a parcel which will also include a grocery store, apartments, a dual generation school and, possibly, a new public school.  The architectural firm, Beyer Blinder Belle, is responsible for the site.
