The Mandalorian, Disney’s Sergio Leone-inspired addition to Star Wars lore , has been a salve for the wounds of Jedi fans. After Disney’s disastrous and often disrespectful handling of the franchise over the last few years – I’m thinking of Rian Johnson’s diabolical 2017 film The Last Jedi and J.J. Abrams’ rancid 2019 Rise of Skywalker – John Favreau’s joyful space western has rediscovered the original magic of Star Wars and fleshed out George Lucas’s epic vision of a faraway galaxy a long time ago.
