Boba Fett s ship renamed by Disney in new LEGO set June 28, 2021 by: First appearing in The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett s ship Slave I is every bit as distinctive as its owner, but it seems that Disney has decided to give the vessel a more family-friendly name. An upcoming Star Wars LEGO set of the iconic ship is set to be released later this summer, but instead of calling it Slave I, the set is merely titled Boba Fett s Starship. According to LEGO Star Wars Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen (via JediNews), the change came directly from Disney. Everybody is [dropping the name], Jens said. It’s probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use any more. Although I would imagine that most fans have been aware of the name of Boba Fett s starship, it has rarely (if ever?) been mentioned on-screen, so with the exception of toy packaging, not a heck of a lot will change.
