NEW DELHI: Addressing a virtual gathering of international dignitaries which included premiers of Italy, the UK and Fiji, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the lessons from the pandemic should not be forgotten as they apply ‘not only to public health disasters but other disasters as well’. He emphasised on concerted efforts to mitigate climate change and meet the sustainable development goals.
Inaugurating an international conference on disaster resilient infrastructure (ICDRI), PM Modi said the countries making large investments in infrastructure such as India must ensure that this is an investment in resilience and not risk.

WN-PM FINLAND Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday emphasised that both Finland and India believe in a rules-based, transparent, humanitarian and democratic global order. Prime Minister Modi and his Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin discussed the entire gamut of bilateral issues as well as other regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest during the virtual summit.

India, Finland discuss 5G, Africa, Myanmar during virtual summit
Both leaders stressed on the close relations between India and Finland which were based on shared values of democracy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin on Tuesday held a virtual summit during which both sides discussed a number of issues like 5G, cooperation in Africa, and the situation in Myanmar and Afghanistan. This was the third Virtual summit of PM Modi with any Nordic country and comes few months before the 2nd India-Nordic summit scheduled to take place in Denmark.
Both leaders announced a Digital Partnership in Future ICT, Future Mobile Technologies and Digital Education. On the digital partnership, both sides will be focusing on Future mobile technologies, focusing on 6G research & development. Finland with companies like Nokia is well known for its technology prowess.
