Lightning eMotors introduces new generation 4 Lightning Electric Transit Class 3 Van; battery-electric and fuel cell electric variants
Lightning eMotors has announced a new model of its Class 3 Lightning Electric Transit Van. The new, longer-range Lightning Electric Transit Van is the fourth generation of its battery-electric and fuel cell electric platform, based on the Ford Transit 350HD chassis.
The Gen 4 powertrain, with new battery technology and up to 105 kWh of battery capacity, has up to 40% more range than the Gen 3’s 120-mile range as a battery-only vehicle, with fuel cell configurations extending the range to 250 miles (based on EPA-certified dynamometer testing) and new pricing that provides a compelling total cost of ownership versus a gasoline van.

CARB approves $28M investment in clean trucks, cars
The California Air Resources Board approved $28 million in Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) funding to support two popular statewide incentive programs aimed at bringing the cleanest vehicle technologies to low-income and underserved communities.
California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) provides incentives to purchase the cleanest medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and Clean Cars 4 All incentivizes lower-income California drivers to scrap their older, high-polluting cars and replace them with zero-emission, plug-in hybrid or hybrid vehicles.
Each of these vehicle-purchase incentive programs helps businesses and individuals make the switch to clean vehicles and helps grow the market for these technologies.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has approved $28 million in Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) funding to support two statewide incentive programs aimed at bringing the cleanest vehicle technologies to low-income and underserved communities.
These vehicle-purchase incentive programs help businesses and individuals make the switch to clean vehicles and help grow the market for these technologies. The transportation sector is California’s largest source of air pollution and climate-changing gases – and the prime source of air pollution in communities adjacent to ports, rail yards, distribution centers and goods movement corridors that suffer from high levels of diesel pollution.
