A Dallas man faces a capital murder charge after a fatal shooting at an illegal game room in Pleasant Grove that was captured on surveillance video.
Laurentino Belmares Jr., 26, was taken into custody hours after the incident earlier this month. He does not have an attorney listed in court records.
According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, he was in the game room in the 8100 block of Stonehurst Street, near South Buckner Boulevard, along with 63-year-old Thong Nguyen and another man on the morning of May 2.

A driver who was under the influence when he crashed into a vehicle carrying a former Dallas City Council member and her daughter in 2019, killing both women, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Jonathan Alger Moore, 38, pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in the deaths of Carolyn Davis, 57, and Melissa Davis Nunn, 27, the Dallas County district attorney’s office announced. He was sentenced Friday to 45 years behind bars on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
