Winter storm drops more snow on Stephenville, surrounding area
E-T Staff Report
After a New Year s Eve stormed dropped snow on parts of Texas, including Erath County, another round of winter weather blanketed parts of the region again on Sunday, making roads slick and causing some power outages.
In Stephenville, the National Weather Service reported about 2 inches of precipitation at Clark Field Municipal Airport, though totals across the region may vary.
The storm system brought several inches of snow to some other areas that don t usually see such wintry weather, including Austin and College Station.
National Weather Service meteorologist Matthew Brady said Sunday afternoon that some areas of Williamson County, north of Austin, had gotten up to 5 inches of snow.

One of the strongest nor’easters of the past few winters is headed for the Northeast U.S., where residents are starting to suffer whiplash from watching their snow forecasts bounce between inches and feet as the models sort things out. While the National Weather Service tries to get a handle on the first real winter storm of the season, we can be certain of one thing: the storm is going to deliver solid surf to the U.S. East Coast and the Caribbean this week and through the next.
Right about now, you might be wondering, “I thought the East Coast wasn’t supposed to see nor’easters or snowstorms during a warm La Nina winter?” Well, these events can and do still happen during La Nina, they’re just less likely to. So we’re sticking to our guns.
