The Home Office has agreed on a major cloud hosting deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS) under the company’s One Government Value Agreement.
Agreement on the contract, valued at between £80 million and £120 million over three years, comes weeks after the company announced its memorandum of understanding with the Crown Commercial Service for preferential public sector pricing.
While the Home Office has provided no detail on the services to be supplied under the contract, the market notice says it replaces the previous arrangement between the two on public cloud hosting services which awarded in December of last year.
Market analyst TechMarketView has pointed out that the department has been a customer for AWS, having spent £28 million with it through the G-Cloud framework over 2019-29 and £6.5 million since the beginning of this financial year.
