Premium Content A 25-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with child abuse material offences after detectives raided his home and seized four hard drives, two smart phones and a tablet he allegedly used to access and upload the material. Bennett s home was raided in November 2020. The AFP conducted a search into Matthew Benjamin Bennett s home in November 2020 following reports from official child protection centres. Police found a number of electronic devices in the home. Police will allege Bennett used Dropbox and Kik Messenger to access and upload child abuse material, as well as store it on the devices.
A Queensland man is set to face Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today (Friday 12 February, 2021) charged with child abuse material offences, following an Australian Federal Police (AFP) child protection operation.
The man was issued with notices to appear after the AFP executed a search warrant at his Caboolture home in November 2020.
Detectives seized a number of electronic items from the home, including four hard drives, two smart phones and a tablet.
AFP Child Protection Operations team in Brisbane launched an investigation into the alleged child abuse material after reports from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).
A 31-year-old Kallangur man who targeted shopping centre car parks to steal high-end bicycles was sentenced to prison at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Joshua James Ready appeared via videolink from the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre to plead guilty to nine charges, including stealing, entering premises with the intention to commit a crime, possession of a knife in a public place and receiving tainted property. CCTV footage shows Ready riding off with a stolen bike. The court heard Ready s first victim reported her brand new bike missing from the Westfield North Lakes on September 24. According to police prosecutor sergeant Graham Turner, CCTV footage showed a man walking into the car park and using bolt cutters to remove the bike lock.

Subscriber only A grisly photograph tendered to the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Thursday showed a young Ipswich woman battered and bruised, her lips bleeding and eyes blackened. The court heard she d been publicly bashed and humiliated by her boyfriend, 24-year-old Ryan Daniel Burr, after the pair were kicked off a bus on Warwick St in Ipswich at around 3.30pm on July 12. The court heard Ryan Burr injected meth on a daily basis before he was imprisoned at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre.

Subscriber only Ian Seibel, 51, tragically died after being hit by a car while out walking his dog with his wife late last year. The Kallangur man and his wife Paula were both hit by a car at the intersection of Anzac Ave and Brays Rd at about 7.45am on November 1. Both Paula and Ian were taken to hospital, but Ian died in hospital five days later. A 31-year-old North Lakes man has been charged with multiple offences in relation to the incident - the matter is still before the courts.
