Sovereign citizen fails to front court on driving charges

Premium Content Subscriber only A sovereign citizen , who was allegedly caught repeatedly driving while disqualified, has had a warrant issued for his arrest after he failed to appear before court. Alistair Heath Larmour, 43, from Upper Main Arm, is facing charges of driving while disqualified and resisting police over an alleged incident on November 8 last year. When he did not front Byron Bay Local Court on Monday he was convicted in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police will allege Larmour - who was charged with disqualified driving on two prior occasions in October - had to be prised out of his vehicle after they pulled him over in Mullumbimby.

Defence lawyer Paul Cranney told the court his client Aaron Grachan, 32, from Tregear, could not be located when he was due to face Byron Bay Local Court on Monday along with co-accused Nicholas Kevin Varela, 39, from Hornsby. The pair are charged with break and enter dwelling house with intent to steal, entering enclosed lands without a lawful excuse and aggravated break and enter in company with intent to steal. Julia Fernandez-Milner and David Keown are also listed as co-accused in court documents.

Bangalow man charged over commercial supply of cocaine

Premium Content Subscriber only A BANGALOW man facing numerous drug allegations will have his case return to court in the new year. Jared Nicholas Bale, 45, is currently bail refused and was not required to appear by video link when his case was mentioned before Byron Bay Local Court on Monday. Mr Bale is yet to enter formal pleas to the 14 charges against him, which include various allegations of drug possession and supply. The most serious charge he is facing relates to the alleged supply of a commercial amount of cocaine, involving about 325 grams of the drug. All the charges, which also relate to cannabis, MDMA and other drugs, relate to October 28 this year.
