All LAPS staff are invited to a presentation on “COVID Vaccines and How They Work” starting at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10. Dr. Sandy Farmer of Pfizer Pharmaceutical will be the featured speaker.
Staff will be sent the Zoom link prior to the presentation.
Farmer’s presentation will focus on: how immunity works technology foundation for the top COVID vaccines why now for such innovation in vaccines how mRNA vaccines work and why is this such a powerful platform brief background on Phase 3 vaccine clinical trials and how COVID-19 Phase 3 trials compare
Niesz promoted to chief of Manalapan Police Department

MANALAPAN – Edward Niesz, who has served in the Manalapan Police Department for 24 years, has been promoted to the rank of police chief.
Niesz succeeds Michael Fountain, who retired at the end of January after serving 27
years with the department. Fountain became Manalapan’s police chief on April 1, 2016.
In a press release, municipal officials said, “The police department wishes Chief Fountain a happy and healthy retirement. In response to the loss of Chief Fountain at the helm of the police department, the Township Committee has made four promotions to fill the

He previously served two terms as the mayor of Washington, D.C. from 1999 to 2007, and is credited with leading the city’s revitalization, restoring its finances and dramatically improving city services. As the independent Chief Financial Officer of the District of Columbia from 1995 to 1998, he worked with local officials, the D.C. Financial Control Board, and the U.S. Congress. He has held various positions in federal, state, and local government, including serving as the first CFO for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and served as the William H. Bloomberg Lecturer in Public Management at the Harvard Kennedy School.
