(KTVZ) Bend-La Pine Schools Interim Superintendent Lora Nordquist announced Monday that four schools will have new leaders, starting July 1: Bear Creek Elementary School, High Lakes Elementary School, Silver Rail Elementary School and Pacific Crest Middle School. “We are excited to share these announcements with our community and believe these engaging leaders will help continue to strengthen our schools in the years to come,” said Nordquist.  High Lakes Elementary Kimberly Sundberg has been selected to serve as the new principal for High Lakes Elementary School. She will follow Linda Burley, who is retiring July 1.

Four Bend Schools Welcome New Leaders Four schools in Bend will have new leaders starting July 1: Bear Creek Elementary School, High Lakes Elementary School, Silver Rail Elementary School and Pacific Crest Middle School. High Lakes Elementary Kimberly Sundberg has been selected to serve as the new principal for High Lakes Elementary School. She will follow Linda Burley, who is retiring July 1. Sundberg  is currently serving as assistant principal and dean of students for Haines School in Haines, Alaska, a position she has served in for three years. Previously, Sundberg served as a summer camp director for two years. She also has 18 years of classroom teaching experience in Alaska.

Regina region reopening: Government lifts travel advisory

The Regina area is once again open for business. On March 23, the Saskatchewan government put in place stricter public health measures for the Regina region due to an increased threat of COVID-19 transmission. One of those measures was an advisory against travelling to Regina, Belle Plaine, Pense, Grand Coulee, Lumsden Beach, Regina Beach, Craven, Lumsden, Edenwold, Pilot Butte, White City, Balgonie, Kronau, Davin, Gray, Riceton, the RM of Lajord, the RM of Edenwold, the RM of Sherwood, the RM of Pense and the RM of Lumsden. On Monday, the government said it was lifting that advisory. Also Monday, all Regina restaurants and licensed establishments were allowed to reopen for in-person dining provided certain conditions were met. Those included limiting patrons to a maximum of four per table, requiring two to three metres of separation between tables, and keeping detailed information on all patrons for contact tracing purposes.
