Potential Tropical Cyclone Three forms in the Gulf of Mexico

Not Lousiana again. The state is starting off this hurricane season right where it left off last year: In the sights of another tropical system.
Tropical storm warnings are in effect from Intracoastal City, Louisiana, to the Alabama/Florida border, as Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) Three drifts toward the US. New Orleans is in the warning zone.
While landfall is expected on the Gulf Coast on Saturday, the storm’s effects will come well before then.
“A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours,” according to the National Hurricane Center.
The National Hurricane Center’s tropical storm warning extended Friday morning to include parts of Florida’s panhandle as the system now designated as Potential Tropical Cyclone 3 makes its way north. The warning is in effect from Intracoastal City, Louisiana to the Alabama/Florida border and extended to include the Okaloosa-Walton county line, the NHC said in its 5 a.m. update. The warning .
The National Hurricane Center gave Invest 92-L the special designation of Potential Tropical Cyclone #3. This special designation allows for the NHC to begin issuing regular advisories, forecast track cones, and watches and warnings.
