The Government has found evidence foreign fries are being dumped n New Zealand but says current volumes aren’t a threat to the local potato industry. (File photo) Its draft report, released on Wednesday, identified a spike in imports from both countries in June and July last year. It also found evidence of frozen fries being dumped in New Zealand by Dutch company Lamb Weston. However, the dumping was not deemed to be a material threat to the local industry or at a level requiring tariffs. Potatoes NZ chief executive Chris Claridge said although the industry body was pleased the Government agreed dumping was taking place, some of the report’s other findings were frustrating.
