Please do not lie to us - ARAB TIMES

Messenger Logically, the academic and MP Hamad Al-Matar, whose name precedes the titles of ‘Professor’ and ‘Doctor’, is assumed to be the representative of the education facility within the legislative institution by virtue of his ‘experience and position as a professor’. Nationalizing jobs in public sector among several bills on the agenda - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, March 7: The parliamentary Human Resources and Public Funds Protection committees were set to meet on Sunday to discuss various bills and reports. Items in the agenda of the Human Resources Committee include bills on nationalizing jobs in the public sector; such as that of MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari on obligating ministries, public institutions and independent authorities to replace expatriate workers with Kuwaitis within one year. According to the bill, vacant posts in the abovementioned entities should never be filled with expatriates unless no Kuwaiti applies for the job. In such case, it is possible to hire expatriates, but they should be under temporary contracts which will be renewed annually if necessary. Every entity should regularly submit reports on vacancies without Kuwaiti applicants to the concerned authorities in order to determine the reasons why no citizen applies for the job.

Rapporteur of the committee MP Badr Al-Dahoum disclosed the Assembly signed a contract with a lawyer’s office for the provision of legal services to Al- Majles TV at KD30,000 per year. He said the committee recommended the termination of the contract, because the Assembly has a Legal Affairs Department which represents it in court and provides legal services. He added the Assembly signed the contract with a lawyer known for attacking and insulting MPs who do not agree with the policies adopted by Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on social media. It seems the contract is the price that the lawyer was paid for insulting the MPs.
