KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Hani Al- Hamdan upheld the verdict issued to imprison the Bangladeshi MP Muhammad Shahid Islam, former assistant undersecretary in the Ministry of Interior Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah, an official in the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Hassan Al-Khodar, and former MP Salah Khorshid for seven years each, and the dismissal of Sheikh Mazen and Al-Khodar from their positions over “bribery and visa trading” charges. The court also decided to change the fine imposed on the main suspect – the Bangladeshi MP – to two million seven hundred and ten thousand dinars, and his deportation from the country after he serves his prison sentence.

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Days after a video clip showing an Egyptian school security guard – Mohammad Kamal Ja’afar – complaining that he did not receive his salary for more than five months went viral, another guard assigned at a kindergarten in Farwaniya made a similar complaint, disclosing that he has not been paid his salary for 13 months now, reports Al-Rai daily. The guards are waiting for confirmation from their companies and the Education Ministry regarding the payment of their salaries in order to give their families a decent life, especially in light of the current health crisis which has affected all sectors with very few emerging unscathed from its economic consequences. According to the kindergarten guard, he and his colleagues are enduring difficult conditions that no one could bear. He is making ends meet with the help of those residing near the kindergarten, the kindergarten director and some teachers.

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: The Family Welfare Department in the Ministry of Affairs has issued the circular detailing conditions for married graduates who are entitled for assistance, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting reliable sources stated that “the assistance is disbursed to the students after graduation for one year or until joining work, whichever is earlier, provided that he is registered with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) or the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) to find a job. The source added the circular also stipulates that this assistance will continue in the event a married student is nominated to work after the graduation but rejected was rejected. In this case the assistance will be paid until the graduate finds the job for a maximum of one year.

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 26: The Public Authority for Manpower is preparing to issue new stricter measures to control the labor market and stop marginal employment and visa trading, through fake companies and fake licenses.
The authority will issue a decision in the coming days to allow those on government contract visas to transfer to another in the same activity after the end of their first original contract on which the workers were recruited without the consent of the sponsor.
The source indicated that the transfer will be done by transferring the workers to the new tender if they wish to do so, once the contract expires, reports Al Qabas. The owner of the first contract is required to bring proof of his ownership of a government contract for the transfer of the labor to it, only if it is proven that the contract is real and not fake the labor will be transferred to another company that has a valid government contract.
