We understand this is normally a time to get together with friends and extended family. But this year is different and we don’t want or need another step backwards on our recovery journey, health officials wrote.  The serious consequences of gathering indoors with people outside of your household to watch the Super Bowl is just not worth it. Enjoy the game, cheer for your team, and do it all from a comfortable chair or couch in your home with those you live with. Connect virtually to your friends. This weekend, we ask that you not share with others your respiratory droplets, which are more easily spread when we raise our voices, sing, and chant.

Los Angeles County health officials look to target vulnerable populations for COVID vaccine

Cal State University Los Angeles will become one of two COVID-19 mass vaccination sites in the state where officials expect to administer thousands of shots each day.v We re going to be working with pharmacies, health care and clinics to reach out to their high-risk older patients to make sure that we re getting them in to get vaccinated, Ferrer said. She noted that so far more than 1 million people have been vaccinated in the county, and that at least 80% of vaccine doses received by the county have been administered within five days. Meanwhile, ineligible people have continued trying to jump the line for the vaccine, an issue that officials continue to address.
