LA County Misses The Cutoff For More Reopenings

Replies(4) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 10: A person waits to be checked in to be vaccinated at a clinic targeting Central American Indigenous residents at CIELO, an Indigenous rights organization, on April 10, 2021 in Los Angeles, California ( Mario Tama/Getty Images) LOS ANGELES, CA Coronavirus cases continue to fall in Los Angeles as the pool of vaccinated Angelenos grows, but the county, once again, missed the cutoff to move into the next round of reopenings. The coronavirus is still spreading in the community at too high of a rate to move into the yellow tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. For that to happen, Los Angeles County would have to drop below less than 2 cases per 100,000 residents. As of Tuesday, the county was at 2.7 per cases per 100,000 residents. It s a massive drop from the peak of the outbreak during the winter and down from 3.2 last week.
