St Mary s Market testing centre RESIDENTS are being encouraged to do twice-weekly rapid coronavirus tests for people with no symptoms. This symptom-free testing - known as lateral flow testing - is an important tool for easing restrictions and stopping outbreaks of Covid-19. About one in three people who have coronavirus don t get symptoms and may unintentionally spread the virus to others. If you do not have symptoms, you can access symptom-free tests by: • Collecting at-home test kits from your local collection testing site or pharmacy collection site • Ordering lateral flow tests online, if you cannot order online call 119 • Attending a symptom-free testing site for a supervised test.
A “Let’s Get Tested” van will visit key locations in St Helens this weekend to test more people without Covid-19 symptoms in the area. The mobile testing van will provide residents with free supervised Covid-19 testing or test kits to take home for later use. Lateral flow tests are for people without coronavirus symptoms, they are easy to use and give a result in less than an hour. 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 do not have any symptoms. The move aims to tackle people who may be carrying the virus but have no symptoms. The rollout of pop-up testing is part of the wider testing programme in the area which already includes a number of symptom-free testing sites. You can also order free lateral flow testing kits to your door on the GOV.UK website.
