New Covid-19 testing centre pops up in Mudeford car park

Mudeford Quay car park is the latest mobile testing site in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area, with more expected to pop up in popular visitor destinations across Dorset during the week. The testing sites will be in each location for one day and will carry out lateral flow tests. Rachel Partridge, Assistant Director of Public Health for Dorset and BCP Councils said: “Around one in three people with Covid-19 don t have symptoms so with more people going out for non-essential journeys there is a higher risk of them passing the virus on to others they meet.

Covid: Four January weeks see 133 BCP care home deaths

Care home deaths involving Covid have surged in the BCP Council area MORE than 20 per cent of all BCP care home Covid deaths since the start of last April were recorded in the most recent seven-day reporting period. Despite schools being closed to most pupils, they must remain open for children of key workers and vulnerable pupils. St Osmund’s Middle School, based on Barnes Way in Dorchester, and Damer’s First School on Liscombe Street in Poundbury, both reported single cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, January 26.
