REDDITCH’S Covid-19 infection rate remains one of the highest in the country, according to the latest data. In the week leading up to March 7, the rate in Redditch was 138.4 per 100,000 people. There were 118 new cases recorded. The town currently has the eighth highest rate in England. The rate is down from the previous week leading up to February 28, which was 163.0 per 100,000 people. There were 139 positive cases recorded. In nearby Bromsgrove, the rate of infection in the seven days up to March 7 was 49.1 per 100,000 people, with 49 cases recorded. In the same week, Worcester’s infection rate was 58.3 per 100,000 people, with 59 cases recorded.
