Transport Minister Andrew Constance says he’s determined to see the electrification of all cars, buses and trucks in NSW in order to improve air quality amid public health concerns over the government’s expanding motorway network.
Mr Constance said he wanted to make health concerns over air quality from massive motorway projects like WestConnex a thing of the past by electrifying the entire Transport for NSW fleet and eventually all vehicles.

Pharmacies across NSW are working with the state government to determine which locations will be the first to start using chemists to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 1200 earmarked by the federal government as suitable for the job.
Some of the state’s rural and remote pharmacies could be the first to start administering the AstraZeneca vaccine, says David Heffernan, the NSW branch president of the Pharmacy Guild.
In February, thousands of pharmacies applied to be part of the vaccine rollout. More than 3900 community pharmacies across the country were deemed suitable, and since then staff have undergone training to prepare for the rollout.

The original motion by India and South Africa requires a consensus decision by the 164 members of the World Trade Organization. NZ is onside and Australia must throw its weight behind the motion.
For decades the US has championed free trade and, in particular, intellectual property rights. In this instance, the Biden administration has prioritised the impact on human health over that of the profitability of big pharmaceutical companies. Australia really must follow suit.
The production and distribution of more vaccines internationally is the only way that this pandemic will come under control.Â
