Prime Minister inspects new COVID-19 drive-through vaccination center

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Thani inspected the new facility in Lusail yesterday. During his visit, he was informed about the operations of the center and the way the drive-through works. The center, which is operated by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) jointly with Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), will provide vaccination with the second dose of vaccine to people who meet the eligibility criteria. The center comes under the facilities provided by MoPH to facilitate the vaccination process under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program. Qatar- Vaccination at QNCC only on invitation for specific groups

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Saturday reiterated that vaccination at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) is intended for specific groups on a priority basis. The MoPH confirms that invitations will be sent in a gradual and phased manner to ensure the safety of society and a smooth and effective vaccination process, it said in a post on social media. The current stage targets the teaching and administrative staff at schools for their own safety and the safety of our own students , the ministry explained. The reiteration came a day after the MoPH clarified that it was not true that whoever went to the new temporary Covid-19 vaccination centre at QNCC would be given the vaccine. The visit aimed to review the State s plan to expand the national programme for vaccination against Covid-19, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. In the first phase, the centre will focus on vaccinating teachers and school staff, in addition to other essential workers and community members who meet the eligibility criteria. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior inspected the centre, which is run by the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). He was briefed on the work mechanism in general, the operational capacity of the centre and the medical procedures used, QNA said.
