SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco is expanding its network of neighborhood COVID-19 vaccination sites to coincide with the expanded statewide eligibility for everyone 16 and older on April 15.  SF Mayor London Breed on Thursday announced the opening of the city s fourth neighborhood vaccination site as part of an equity strategy to ensure low-barrier vaccine access.  New COVID vaccination site launches in SF Mission San Francisco Mayor London Breed and the city s public health director Dr. Grant Colfax were at the opening of a new Mission District vaccination site on Thursday. It s part of the continuing effort to expand vaccination equity throughout the city to end the pandemic.

These services were provided last year too. Since the patients who don’t need active medical attention too were seeking admission in the second wave of the pandemic, hospitals have resumed the services.

Three University of Wisconsin students earned Barry Goldwater Scholarships, which were announced Wednesday. According to the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, the scholarship is awarded to students who excel in natural science, engineering or mathematics and have high academic and research achievements. This year, 1,256 sophomores and juniors were nominated for the scholarship by 438 institutions. According to a UW press release, 410 of the nominees were awarded scholarships. Recipients are awarded $7,500 to use towards undergraduate study. Manasa Kalluri, Qianyun (Lexi) Luo and Gage Siebert recieved Goldwater scholarships to further their undergraduate research in the math, science and engineering fields at UW.
