Patna, Jan 17 : Four-time Lok Sabha MP and Jan Adhikar Party (Loktantrik) President Pappu Yadav has levelled sensational allegations on the nexus of corrupt officials, politicians and mafia in Bihar who may be involved in the murder of IndiGo Airlines manager Rupesh Kumar Singh. Five days since the incident, there is no headway into the investigation of Rupesh Singh s murder and it indicates a nexus of corrupt officials, leaders and land, sand and liquor mafia, Yadav said.

Studies suggest that early 10 million people in India have been exposed to groundwater contaminated with arsenic.

Seventy-year-old Priya Brath Sharma from Bihar’s Munger district, who has been bedridden for many years, is one among a million cases of arsenic poisoning reported in India. “I have stopped walking for many years as the lower body doesn’t move. I also went to AIIMS for treatment some years back, they said that it was Arsenic-related disease,” he said.

The Lawrence Garden rainwater storage tank which was supposed to be complete in three months after its launch, still stands incomplete even after eight months of spadework, official sources have confirmed.
During the last monsoon season, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) had even released water into the incomplete tank giving an impression that the project had been completed although the structure still lacks several components and is work-in-progress.
The contractor, who was hired to work on the Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf (PTI) government s model rainwater harvesting pilot project, said he has stopped work owing to outstanding dues.

Larsen & Toubro announced that its Water & Effluent Treatment business unit has won multiple EPC ( engineering, procurement and conduction) orders for the execution of rural piped water supply schemes in various districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The projects are part of Jal Jeevan Mission and cover the districts of Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Agar Malwa & Singrauli. The project will cater to the drinking water requirement of 3103 villages covering a population of 48 Lakhs. The projects are part of the Governmentâs ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission to provide piped water supply to every rural household by 2024.
