The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), most notorious for smearing conservative and Christian nonprofits as “hate groups” to raise millions and to cut its ideological opponents off from polite society, also donated money to run ballot drop boxes during the 2020 presidential race in Georgia. Those drop boxes, also funded by Mark Zuckerberg’s Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), weakened crucial ballot safeguards, opening the door for fraud. The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a lawsuit to restore ballot protections but the SPLC joined a legal effort to preserve the drop boxes for the January 5 Senate runoff election.

Almost a month after Election Day, the matter of who should get Michigan’s 16 Electoral College votes remains hotly contested, though they will likely go to Joe Biden.
The Trump campaign claims its observers weren’t given “meaningful access” to the ballot tabulation process. There are also claims about fraud and other irregularities in several states, as well as allegations in Michigan that a software glitch temporarily tabulated nearly 6,000 votes for Joe Biden that had, in fact, been cast for President Donald Trump.
The Michigan Legislature convened a rare Saturday oversight committee joint session to review the allegations and to discuss how the state’s system might be improved. State senators also asked Michigan’s secretary of state to investigate and report findings.

Leaders of the secretive, Christian Right organization the Council for National Policy (CNP) are calling on state legislators in six swing states that President-elect Joe Biden won to throw out the votes of their constituents and appoint the Electoral College electors themselves.
In a Dec. 10 letter posted to the website of the allied Conservative Action Project, CNP members, including CNP President William Walton, CNP Executive Director Bob McEwen, former South Carolina senator and former Heritage Foundation president Jim DeMint, former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, Leadership Institute President Morton Blackwell, and Tea Party Patriots Chair Jenny Beth Martin, advocated abolishing the nation s popular democracy and openly lied about the clear results of the election, which members of the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency called the most secure in American history.

RICHMOND, Va. (CN) The Fourth Circuit seemed unlikely Thursday to side with a conservative legal group in its effort to get sensitive voting records from North Carolina, based on claims that the state has not properly maintained its rolls.
Public Interest Legal Foundation, an Indiana-based nonprofit whose president was a member of President Donald Trump’s failed voter fraud commission, sued the North Carolina State Board of Elections and its Executive Director Karen Brinson Bell last year in an attempt to get voter data it argues should be released under the National Voting Rights Act of 1993.
