New measures to clamp down on selfish dog owners and cyclists could be introduced soon across the Royal Borough. An eight week consultation is being launched by the council to see if people would accept the introduction of two new Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs). PSPOs are designed to deal with anti-social behaviour in areas where the quality of life in the community is being affected. They can be enforced by the police, council enforcement officers or any other authorised officers who can issue a fine of £100. Current controls on dog fouling are acknowledged as ineffective in the borough, while cyclists regularly speed through pedestrianised zones in King Street and the High Street, Maidenhead and Peascod Street, Windsor.
