Northern Light Health has received nearly $1 million in reimbursement for operating the COVID-19 vaccination center at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency said in a news release Monday it has awarded a grant of $928,706 to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, which stood up the vaccination center in January. The center can provide up to 900 inoculations per day.
The grant covers a three-month period and pays for a variety of expenses, including the costs of personal protective equipment, materials for handling and administering COVID-19 vaccines, emergency medical care for vaccine administration and supplies for handling medical waste.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - On Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $27 million in financial relief for those impacted by Hurricane Michael.
DeSantis is directing the Florida Division of Emergency Management to approve pending disaster recovery cost-share waivers for local governments that are eligible. According to the Governor’s Office, this is expected to give an estimated $22 million to these communities.

Vermont Business Magazine The State of Vermont received a grant totaling over $1 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), awarded to help reimburse expenses associated with ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
The grant of $1,397,762 is given to the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, to pass through to Southern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA), for food distribution to high risk populations. Work performed under this grant occurred from January 18 to February 14.
