JOHANNESBURG - Government has made a slight move in its wage increase offer to public sector workers during wage negotiations at the Public Sector Coordinating Bargaining Council.
Eyewitness News has confirmed that the one-year wage agreement proposal contained a monthly cash gratuity of R978 until March 2022.
Beyond the monthly cash payments, government has proposed to increase pay progressions by 1.5% percent.

JOHANNESBURG - The public sector wage negotiations could resume by Friday after a two-week deadlock.
Unions have agreed to government’s proposal to continue with the talks through a facilitation process headed by independent mediators.
The critical negotiations hit a snag after government offered workers 0% wage increases in response to a 7% demand.

Eyewitness News has reliably learnt that public sector trade union leaders will be meeting on Tuesday to consider a new proposal from government on how to approach negotiations.
Government officials met with labour at the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) on Monday night in an attempt to break the deadlock in the wage talks.
Government made no new offers to workers but did suggest a new approach.
