Those having family terms with Modi can t talk of Kashmir: Farrukh

July 10, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib Friday said that those having family terms with Indian Premier Narendra Modi had no right to talk of the rights of Kashmir. Addressing a press conference here, he asked PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz to refrain from lecturing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Kashmir policy as she had no right to even discuss it because of her family’s personal relations with the Indian prime minister. Recalling the time when Nawaz Sharif, as the PM, had preferred to attend Narendra Modi’s oath-taking ceremony and refused to meet the Hurriyat leaders of occupied Kashmir in India, he said the Indian PM was used to attend private functions of the Sharif family.

NTDC starts work on transmission line for Suki Kinari project Will connect transmission with 500 kV Neelum-Jhelum transmission line PHOTO: REUTERS ISLAMABAD: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has started construction of 75-kilometer-long 500 kV double circuit transmission line for evacuation of power from 870MW Suki Kinari Hydropower Project. The transmission will be connected with 500 kV Neelum-Jhelum transmission line. NTDC has completed basic works like survey and soil investigation, route validation, demarcation of forest trees, approach and access roads etc. NTDC Managing Director Muhammad Ayub inaugurated the construction works for the first tower of the said transmission line at Garhi Habibullah, Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He directed the NTDC teams and contractor to complete the project before its deadline. The NTDC MD also planted a tree at the power house of Suki Kinari hydropower plant as part of ongoing tree plantation campaign of NTDC.

Chinese investors keen to invest in South Balochistan: Asad

Daily Times July 7, 2021 Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar said on Tuesday that Chinese investors have expressed their willingness to invest in the South Balochistan package. Briefing media persons, the minister said that the Chinese investors would invest over $1 billion in this project. He said that the South Balochistan project was 35 times bigger than the Phase-1 of the North free zone of Gwadar, adding that the Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced this historical package in November for Balochistan. The minister said, 53 development projects worth over Rs600 billion have been included in the development programme of the current fiscal year (2021-22). The minister said the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) contains around Rs1200 billion development projects for Balochistan.
