Poe: No PUV phaseout during pandemic

Ngunit, ika nga nila – there are two sides to every story and as policymakers, we are expected to consider both,” Poe said.

MPUJS get on board service contract program

SunStar File photo February 14, 2021 ASIDE from the 73 buses operated by 148 drivers of MyBus Cebu and the Ceres Bus Liners, modern public utility jeepneys (MPUJs) will start operating under the service contract program next week. Eduardo Montealto, Jr., Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7 director, a team from the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program conducted a three-day consecutive orientation to a total of 347 MPUJ drivers on Feb. 3 to 5, 2021 while the team also re-oriented a total of 58 bus drivers. The orientation was part of the onboarding process of the program, which allows drivers to understand more the service contracting program and its factors.

LandBank partners with DOTr to boost PH transport modernization

CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 1 (PIA) The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) has partnered with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its attached agencies on various programs in support of the National Government’s transport modernization agenda.  Under the fuel subsidy scheme, LandBank has so far distributed direct cash grants worth P6,500 each to 122,311 transport operators who have been adversely affected by the implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols. Distribution of cash grants is ongoing and targeted for completion by April 2021. The Bank has also extended appraisal services for the North-South Commuter Railway Extension Project (NSCR-Ex), which is designed to expand the existing mass transportation in Metropolitan Manila and adjacent areas. Likewise, under the Resettlement Action Plan Entitlements Distribution Mechanism, LandBank delivers cash entitlements to eligible residents and other Project-Affected Persons (PAPs) of the Extension Project.
