The Palestinian Authority and the Arab League on Saturday condemned the opening of the Czech Republic’s diplomatic office in Jerusalem, calling the move “a flagrant violation of international law,” according to Reuters.
Prague opened the Jerusalem office of its embassy Thursday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš inaugurated his country’s new diplomatic office in Yerushalayim on Thursday in a ceremony attended by Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.
“We, the Czech Republic, are opening here in Jerusalem on Washington Street our diplomatic representation,” Babiš said at the ceremony.
He clarified that the Czech Republic Embassy would still remain in Tel Aviv. “We will have a full-fledged diplomatic mission here in Jerusalem. It will deal with many things, ranging from politics, economic cooperation to consular agenda and other topics. It will have its permanent staff and work under the lea

At the instruction of Public Security Minister Amir Ohana, the police dispersed an event on Monday in East Jerusalem in honor of International Women’s Day. The order signed by Ohana claimed the event was connected to the Palestinian Authority but the event’s organizers say it has no connection to the PA and was planned by the women in the neighborhood.
In the last few years, Jerusalem police have dispersed any event in East Jerusalem where there was even the slightest suspicion of PA involvement, per the law for the implementation of the Oslo Accords that prohibits any PA activity in the city.

An Arab lawmaker who broke away from the alliance of Arab parties does not rule out supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or other right-wing politicians after the elections.
